This set is volume three of the Egyptian Religious Texts and Representations series and is complete in itself. This work is devoted to a selection of important mythological papyri from the Cairo Museum; The Louvre and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna; the Archaeological Museum, Florence; the Turin Museum; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. It is in two parts: a volume containing a historical introduction, descriptions of the papyri, translations of the texts, and a chapter on the religious symbolism of the papyri, illustrated by representative diagrams; and a portfolio of collotype reproductions of thirty papyri, which unfold in order to facilitate their study in sequence. The size of the plates range from 2 feet to eleven feet in length!
