[REUSS, Theodor; CROWLEY, Aleister] O.T.O. Rituals and Sex Magick
[REUSS, Theodor; CROWLEY, Aleister] O.T.O. Rituals and Sex Magick
UK: I-H-O Books, 1999. First Edition. (Edited and compiled by Anthony Naylor, with an introduction by Peter Koenig). Thick Paperback. Octavo. 498 pages. Black and white illustrations. Light reading creases to spine, slight corner curl to cover. A solid, very good copy.
This scarce volume begins with a 60 page introduction which discusses the birth of the Order, it’s operation in various countries and the history of the various claimants of the O.T.O. crown. The book incorporates all of the information published by Francis King in his The Secret Rituals of the O.T.O., plus a lot of additional material: an early Crowley (pre-Thelemic) O.T.O. initiation ritual, the text of De Arte Magica (left out of King’s book - probably by accident - though he did, for some inexplicable reason, include it at the end of his book Crowley on Christ), emblems of the order grades and their mode of use, the complete text of Amrita, secret details concerning the VIIIth, IXth and Xth degrees, plus some speculations concerning the XIth degree. There is considerable amount of material from Theodor Reuss including initiation rituals and instructional texts. There are also additional articles and essays by Crowley considered to be illuminating concerning the sexual mysteries of the O.T.O., and much more. The book is dedicated to Aleister Crowley's literary executors, recognizing both Louis Wilkinson and John Symonds (oddly enough) as being IXth degree O.T.O.
